Tempo Traveller hire comes up constantly for group bookings. Pilgrimage groups, weddings, family functions and larger friend circles all ask the same question: which seater actually fits our needs?

The answer depends on the real passenger count, luggage and the roads on your route, not only on the number printed on the vehicle.

This size balances capacity with manageability on narrower roads, which matters on hill routes and at the Sonauli border. It fits twelve passengers with push-back seating, and many groups book it for nine or ten people to get more luggage room and comfort.

It is also the easiest to park at temples, hotels and in town centres.

The 17 seater gives a bigger family, community group or office team more seats while still behaving like a regular road vehicle. It suits groups of thirteen to seventeen.

Once your group goes beyond what a 17 seater handles, the 20 seater bridges the gap without jumping to our largest vehicle. Forward-facing seating with a luggage compartment makes it practical for large family functions and community groups.

This is our largest regular vehicle, built for situations where splitting into several vehicles would otherwise be needed. Coach-style seating with a centre aisle suits long distance travel, though it is less manoeuvrable on narrow hill roads.

For Nepal cross-border routes and Char Dham circuits with hill roads, we generally recommend the smallest vehicle that fits your group, because it handles winding sections better. For flatter routes like Ayodhya or Varanasi, larger seaters handle the roads without the same concerns.

Booking slightly under maximum capacity means more comfort on multi-day trips. Also think about luggage separately from passenger count, since a group with a lot of bags may need to size up even if passengers alone would fit a smaller vehicle.
